Youth Discipline Policy
The following steps will be taken, in order, when any inappropriate action is witnessed by or reported to a staff member:
First Offense:
The person is given a private verbal warning, notified of the action that caused the warning, and told what the pool expectations of them are. They will be asked to sit out of the pool for 15 minutes. An incident report is filed and signed by both the staff and the person. The person is notified of what will happen with the next offense.
Second Offense:
The person is given a verbal warning and asked to sit out until his/her parents arrive (or walk home if parents desire) as the child will be suspended from the facility for that day. The person is notified what action led to this discipline and what the pool expectations are. The person will then call their parents from the pool phone and notify them of why they are being disciplined. An incident report is completed and signed by both the staff and the person. The person is notified of what will happen with the next offense.
Third Offense:
The person is given a verbal warning and asked to sit out until his/her parents arrive (or walk home if the parents desire) as the child will be suspended from the pool for two weeks. The person is notified what action led to this discipline and what the pool expectations are. The person will then call their parents from the pool phone and notify them of why they are being disciplined. Their incident report is completed and signed by both the staff and the person. The pool manager will call the parents as well as send a follow up letter stating the previous actions that led to their child’s suspension.
If discipline problems continue the issue will be brought before the pool board for determination of future actions. Each staff member is expected to carry out this procedure in a friendly and professional manner.
NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED FOR A SECOND OR THIRD OFFENSE RESULTING IN SUSPENSION!
